Pastry Chef – Modern Turkish Restaurant, Canary Wharf

We’re looking for an accomplished Pastry Chef to join a standout modern Turkish restaurant in Canary Wharf, where fire-roasted savoury dishes sit alongside carefully crafted dessert plates. The kitchen combines tradition with a contemporary approach, offering fresh breads, open-fire grills and refined Mediterranean-influenced desserts. We’re seeking a pastry professional who can bring creativity, seasonality and precision to our sweet offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a dessert menu that complements the restaurant’s modern Turkish and Mediterranean identity.
  • Produce high-quality pastries, plated desserts, breads and baked goods daily.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to create seasonal, flavour-led items using the best available ingredients.
  • Manage pastry prep, organisation and service to ensure consistent quality and smooth pass execution.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, storage and waste management for the pastry section.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs where required, supporting a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience as a Pastry Chef or strong Pastry Junior Sous in a quality-driven or high-volume restaurant.
  • Strong foundation in classical pastry techniques with a modern, creative approach.
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own section and deliver consistent results under pressure.
  • Genuine passion for Mediterranean flavours, seasonality and ingredient-led cooking.
  • Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
  • A positive, hands-on attitude and the ability to thrive in a busy, ambitious kitchen.
