Quality Manager

£50,000 - £60,000

Dartford

We do what we say!
That’s why we need people like you to help us deliver on our promises. People who enjoy getting things done.

We’re looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join our Energy team, supporting the delivery of the UK Power Networks (UKPN) contract. This is a key role where you will be responsible for shaping and driving quality standards across a portfolio of complex HV and substation projects.

As part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you’ll ensure that projects not only meet contractual and regulatory requirements, but also demonstrate innovation, efficiency, and best practice in quality management.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Leading the development and implementation of quality systems, processes, and inspection strategies across the UKPN contract.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with legislation, ISO standards, and client requirements.
  • Preparing and managing Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality assurance check sheets, Health & Safety Files, and As-Built documentation.
  • Overseeing and reporting on quality performance, including management of non-conformances, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Chairing and contributing to client and internal quality meetings, providing expert guidance on quality and compliance issues.
  • Supporting the Construction Management Team on HV, civils, and utilities quality requirements, ensuring projects are delivered right first time.
  • Providing leadership, training, and mentoring to Quality Inspectors, promoting a culture of accountability, improvement, and operational excellence.

We would love to hear from you if…

You are already working at management level in Quality, ideally within the utilities, power, or infrastructure sectors. You have a track record of leading audits, implementing ISO 9001/14001/45001 systems, and influencing teams to deliver consistently high standards.

Knowledge of HV systems, substation construction, and standards such as SROH and NRSWA will be important for success. Chartered or professionally qualified candidates (e.g. IRCA Lead Auditor, PRINCE2/APMP, Lean Six Sigma) are highly desirable, though strong leadership, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills are equally valued.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a role where you can make a tangible impact, champion best practice, and play a pivotal part in delivering critical energy infrastructure projects.
