About us

Wentworth Club is one of the world’s finest private members Golf and Country Clubs, famous for its outstanding three Championship golf courses, in addition to a luxury Tennis & Health Club. The Club is surrounded and entwined within the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where many of the world’s premier golfers have their home.

The Landscape Gardener will head up a new venture to maintain high end gardens on the Wentworth Estate, ensuring the highest of standards of landscaping and gardening is delivered on a day-to-day basis. He or She will work alongside the Grounds Team and report to the Grounds Manager.

Key Areas of Activity

Day-to-day tasks may include:

  • Cutting grass (pedestrian and ride-on)
  • Operating equipment like strimmer and hedge cutters
  • Blowing leaves and clearing paths
  • Weeding, pruning, watering, planting
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment
  • Executes additional ad-hoc tasks to meet the business objectives of the department as directed by the Grounds Manager or his Deputy

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 5-year experience working in high end gardens is essential
  • Excellent plant knowledge
  • Polite and professional attitude as the role requires to work with clients
  • Great customer service skills
  • Good work ethic with keen eye for attention to detail
  • The ability to work well with hands
  • Must also be able to work without supervision and prioritise workload
  • The job involves working outdoors in all weather and it is a physical demanding role

Qualifications

  • A clean driving licence is essential
  • Sound understanding of health and safety at work
  • Level 2 Horticultural qualification
  • Chainsaw certificates desirable
  • PA1, PA6 desirable
