Job Purpose
To care for children of junior and infant age categories, delivering and developing stimulating and structured play opportunities in a safe and secure environment whilst ensuring excellent Member satisfaction at all times. To be responsible for the care of children attending the creche and associated junior activities.

Key Areas of Activity
Creche

 

  • To be responsible for the delivery of a safe caring developmental environment for the children of both members and guests which adheres to current legislation requirements (OFSTED).
  • To be responsible for the supervision of all Crèche staff including recruitment, rostering, motivation, training and performance.
  • To ensure all crèche staff maintain a high standards of hygiene, appearance and dress code.
  • To support the Programme Manager in the provision and development of the Children’s Activity Programme, through effective utilisation of the Crèche team resource.
  • To undertake Crèche administration tasks as appropriate, including the provision of attendance figures for the Programme Manager.
  • To ensure the smooth operation of birthday parties including booking, content and delivery.
  • To review and report on all activities and children’s events, ensuring their financial viability and suitability for the membership.
  • To encourage the promotion of family memberships through the provision of effective service to both current and prospective members

Junior Activities

 

  • To provide the highest standards of service to both children and parents at all times.
  • To take an active role in the care of children, whilst supporting the day-to-day operation of the creche and infant / junior programmes.
  • To be a Camp Leader and deliver on holiday camps.
  • To deliver age appropriate health awareness lessons, delivering key messages around benefits of physical activity, healthy eating and wellbeing.
  • To provide a welcoming, safe, clean and stimulating environment, which encourages physical, intellectual and emotional development of each child, adhering to legislation throughout the clubs provision for young people.
  • To assist the infant and junior co-ordinator in implementing an innovative and balanced programme of activities, which meets the need of the Membership & OFSTED and maximises revenue.
  • To ensure all operational systems and procedures are followed in line with company standards & deliver consistently high levels of service excellence to ensure member satisfaction at all times.
  • To assist as required in operational areas of the club as dictated by the demands of the business – gym, café, reception, pools and outdoor activities.
  • To work alongside colleagues in ensuring the compliance with all company and statutory requirements related to Fire, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Licensing and employment.


Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• At least 2 years’ experience of working with children in a play, educational and/or sports environment.
• Foundation degree or degree in child development or related subject (preferred)
• As a minimum Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or similar)
• Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations and safeguarding children
• Confident and able to communicate well at all levels – staff, parents, and children.
• Ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Well organised and confident with IT.
• Full paediatric First Aid qualified.
• First Aid qualified.
• Current DBS Check
