Hours: 40h per week
A fabulous co-educational independent school for children aged 4 to 16. Set in the heart of gorgeous Kensington, London. Catering for about 500 students and teachers. We offer a core feeding of AM snack, Lunch. We also operate a cookery club with the school. There will be a good amount of hospitality offering at this location. This is a term time only contract working 40 weeks a year. This school operates Monday to Friday and the school offers some great perks.
We are looking for a talented Salad Chef to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in London.
You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of fresh salads, dressings, and cold dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
- Wash, chop, slice, and portion vegetables, fruits, proteins, and garnishes efficiently
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to food safety standards
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and portion size
- Follow hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations at all times
- Set up and replenish the salad station during service
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or spoilage
- Minimize food waste through proper preparation and storage techniques
- Clean and organize the workstation before, during, and after shifts
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely orders
- Prepare a variety of house-made salad dressings, vinaigrettes, and sauces following standard recipes
- Measure, mix, and emulsify ingredients to ensure consistent flavor, texture, and quality
- Adjust seasoning and balance flavors according to chef standards and guest preferences
- Label, date, and store dressings properly to maintain freshness and food safety compliance
- Monitor shelf life of dressings and discard expired products as required
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all dressing preparation tools and containers
- Assist in developing new dressing recipes and seasonal flavor variations
- Ensure adequate prep levels of dressings for service periods

Knowledge / competencies:
Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
