
Kitchen Assistant

Contract: Full Time, Temporary
Salary: € 1.000 per month
Hours: 40 per week
A leading British International School in Almancil, Portugal. Currently catering for about 200 students and teachers daily, this number is expected to go up to about 500. We offer a core feeding of Lunch and an afternoon snack along with some hospitality. This is a 52 a year school and operates Monday to Friday.
We are looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at one of our fabulous locations in Almancil.
You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant.
You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.
Key responsibilities:
- To work well in a team, providing food and a great service
- To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards
- Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
- Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
- Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
- Excellent customer service skills
- Great team player
- Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep

Knowledge / competencies:
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
- Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
