Salary: Up to £42,000/annum

Studio Paskin is expanding into West London with the opening of The Barbary Notting Hill. We seek an experienced Junior Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in the launch of our most ambitious restaurant project to date and what will become the flagship site of The Barbary brand.


The Position
We are looking for a vibrant and high-energy Junior Sous Chef who is excited about working at the heart of a guest-facing open kitchen and helping to lead the kitchen team to success through an exciting new opening.


The Candidate

  • Previous experience working as a Junior Sous Chef in a similar restaurant environment is essential. You might also be an experienced and skilled Senior CDP who is ready to take the next step in your career.
  • You’ll be a strong leader who is able to nurture the team around you and use your experience to run service with confidence and support Head Chef Daniel Alt in ensuring consistent high standards and developing the next generation of talent.
  • Collaborative – you’ll be working closely with the Head Chef and Senior Management team to ensure the success of The Barbary Notting Hill.
  • Creative and eager to contribute to The Barbary Notting Hill menu.
  • Energy, tenacity and enthusiasm. Self-aware, empathetic and able to work with commitment and integrity.
  • Commercially minded with some previous exposure to kitchen financials.
  • Comfortable with the administrative side of the role; you’ll be supporting the Head Chef to ensure that all systems & procedures are successfully followed.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills – must be thorough & detail focused.
  • Experience in the pace, demands and constant adjustments of a new opening is highly desirable.


The Restaurant
Featuring a reimagining of the iconic Barbary horseshoe kitchen counter, the 75-cover affair will also include a dining room and dedicated cocktail bar, as we bring the Barbarian experience to the Notting Hill neighbourhood. The menu finds its origins in the beloved elemental cooking of The Barbary, whilst breaking new ground to offer an elevated dining experience.
