Sous Chef | The Palomar | Soho, London

The Palomar, nestled in the heart of London’s West End, is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join Head Chef Dan Murray in leading our talented kitchen team. 

Our small space is bursting with the vibrant colours, flavours, sounds and aromas of the rich cultures of Southern Spain and Italy, North Africa and the Levant. Whether in the midst of the action sat up at our kitchen counter, back in the elegant dining room or spilling out onto our street terrace, the atmosphere here remains at the forefront of our city’s dining scene.

You’ll be

  • Vibrant, high-energy and excited about working at the heart of a guest-facing open kitchen in a fast-paced central London restaurant.
  • Passionate for the cuisine of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. Professional experience with Middle Eastern cuisine is beneficial but not essential; experience with similar cooking techniques and working in a high calibre, busy and ambitious restaurant is key.
  • A strong leader who is able to nurture the team around you and use your experience to run service with confidence. You will support Head Chef Dan Murray in developing the next generation of talent and ensuring consistent high standards.
  • Collaborative – you’ll be working closely with the Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef and Senior Management team to ensure the continued success of The Palomar.
  • Creative and eager to contribute to the ever evolving menu at The Palomar.
  • Calm under pressure and able to consistently produce high-volume fresh food with high customer expectations.
  • Commercially minded with a handle on kitchen financials.
  • Comfortable with the administrative side of the role; you’ll be supporting the Head Chef to ensure that all systems & procedures are successfully followed.
