Studio Paskin is expanding into West London with the opening of The Barbary Notting Hill 

We seek an experienced Assistant General Manager to join us for the launch of our most ambitious restaurant project to date and what will become the flagship site of The Barbary brand.

The Position

We are looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading the front-of-house team on exceptional service and on the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. Our Assistant General Manager will be an integral part of the senior management team and collaborate with the General Manager and Head Chef on the overall strategic planning, development and success of The Barbary Notting Hill. You’ll be a strong, people-focussed leader who is experienced in engaging large teams and leading on exceptionally high standards of service.

The Candidate

  • A confident and vibrant personality who thrives in the buzz of service.
  • Previous experience working as an Assistant General Manager or an ambitious Restaurant Manager in a high-volume, high-class restaurant environment.
  • Passionate about detailed hospitality, guest experience and dedicated to exceptionally high standards of service. The ideal candidate will inspire this commitment in others.
  • A solid foundation in business financials with previous evidence of achieved targets and an entrepreneurial mindset and proactive approach to profitability.
  • Highly organised and resourceful. Our General Manager will be thorough, detailed focussed and able to effectively manage large teams and respond strategically.
  • Experience of the pace and demands of a new opening is highly desirable.
  • A strong background in wine, ideally with a WSET Level 3.

The Restaurant

Featuring a reimagining of the iconic Barbary horseshoe kitchen counter, the 75-cover affair will also include a dining room and dedicated cocktail bar, as we bring the Barbarian experience to the Notting Hill neighbourhood. The menu finds its origins in the beloved elemental cooking of The Barbary, whilst breaking new ground to offer an elevated dining experience.
