The Barbary & The Barbary Next Door are tucked away in the iconic Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden. Both stand as individual restaurants, each with a different offering and unique focus. The restaurants are bursting with personality, as they take their inspiration from the rich history of the Barbary Coast, Moroccan courtyards and backstreet Andalusian bars. They tell a story of trade, travel and culture – people voyaging along the coast, collecting and sharing recipes and ideas. This culinary heritage is about seasonality and availability; and most of all, bringing people together.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step up into a multi-faceted role.

You’ll be

• Leading from the front and by example. The Barbary is a high-volume site and you must thrive in taking charge of the daily operation, leading team briefings, and being the role model for your team.
• Quality control is paramount – you work side-by-side with the General Manager to maintain, optimise and improve upon our standards of service.
• Working with the General Manager to ensure statutory compliance across all areas of the business; maintain and improve profitability in line with given targets; anticipate and proactively resolve upcoming site and broader issues; and deal with maintenance in a cost-effective way.
• Supervising onboarding, appraisal and disciplinary procedure with the support of the Head of People whilst overseeing labour budgets and allocating staff hours.
