As a Public Area Cleaner, you'll play an important part in our guests' experience. From the moment they walk through our doors, you'll help ensure our hotel looks and feels welcoming, comfortable and beautifully cared for.

From our reception and public areas to corridors, washrooms and other guest spaces, you'll take pride in maintaining the high standards our guests expect from Sarova Hotels.

This is much more than simply cleaning, it's about noticing the little things, taking pride in your surroundings and working as part of a friendly team to create a great experience for every guest.

The Role

As part of our friendly Housekeeping team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the hotel's public areas are cleaned, maintained and presented to the highest standards throughout the day.

You'll be someone who notices the details that make a difference – keeping our public spaces spotless, ensuring guest washrooms are well presented and fully stocked, and responding quickly when an area needs attention.

You'll work closely with the rest of the Housekeeping team and other hotel departments to make sure our hotel remains clean, welcoming and comfortable for our guests throughout their stay.

The role includes a mixture of early and late shifts, predominantly 8am – 4:30pm & 11am – 7:30pm. Weekend and bank holiday working is required as part of the rota.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and understands just how important clean and well-presented public areas are to a guest's overall impression of our hotel.

Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is great, but it's not essential. If you have the right attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, we'll give you the training and support you need to succeed.

You'll need to enjoy being active, be comfortable working at pace and have a keen eye for detail. As you'll be working throughout the hotel's guest areas, you'll also need to be friendly, approachable and happy to assist our guests when needed.

As our Public Area Cleaner, you'll have...

• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, public area cleaning or a similar cleaning role would be an advantage, but isn't essential as full training will be provided.

What will you be doing as our Public Area Cleaner?

• Cleaning and maintaining the hotel's public areas to our high standards throughout your shift.
• Ensuring reception, lobby areas, corridors, stairways and other guest areas are clean, tidy and beautifully presented.
• Cleaning and regularly checking guest and public washrooms, ensuring they remain spotless and fully stocked.
• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and cleaning floors as required.
• Dusting and cleaning furniture, fixtures, glass, mirrors and other surfaces.
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly and safely.
• Replenishing toiletries and other supplies in public areas.
• Regularly checking high-traffic areas and responding promptly when additional cleaning is required.
• Cleaning lifts, staircases and other communal areas.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, damage, hazards or lost property promptly.
• Using cleaning products, chemicals and equipment correctly and safely in line with hotel procedures.
• Following all hygiene, COSHH, health and safety procedures at all times.
• Working closely with the Housekeeping team and other hotel departments to maintain excellent standards throughout the hotel.
• Responding politely and helpfully to guests you meet while carrying out your duties.
• Helping to create the clean, comfortable and welcoming environment that makes our guests want to return.

Please note: there is no staff car parking on site at the hotel, but there is plenty of secure space to store bicycles, with great access to local bus and train services.
