The Winchester Hotel & Spa has been one of Winchester’s most popular destinations for weekend getaways and spa breaks for over 20 years. The hotel consists of 96 bedrooms across four room types, a relaxing spa with a range of professional treatments as well as a refreshing pool and hot tub, flexible function rooms and a stylish bar and restaurant to enjoy throughout the day.
We are looking for a friendly, proactive, and customer-focused Leisure Club Assistant to support the smooth operation of our hotel's leisure and wellness facilities. In this role, you will ensure guests and members receive excellent service, assist with maintaining the leisure areas, and support the wider leisure team in delivering an exceptional wellness experience.

Your role
We are committed to providing a high-quality leisure experience for our guests and members. As a Leisure Club Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the leisure club, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and welcoming while providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting guests and members with inquiries about the leisure club's services and facilities.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of all leisure areas, including the gym, pool, changing rooms, and relaxation spaces.
- Monitoring the use of equipment and reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate teams.
- Providing towels, robes, and amenities to guests and ensuring a well-stocked and presentable environment.
- Supporting leisure club promotions by informing guests of membership options, fitness classes, and wellness services.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including pool safety and gym usage guidelines.
- Supporting fitness instructors and spa staff in delivering a seamless leisure experience.
- Assisting with membership sign-ups, renewals, and general administrative tasks related to the leisure club.
- The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details, and trusting.
The core skills and experience required to succeed:
- Previous experience in a leisure, fitness, or customer service role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for delivering great service.
- A proactive and professional approach to maintaining high facility standards.
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations in a leisure or spa environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and take initiative when required.
- A flexible approach to work, with availability for shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- A valid Pool Responder or Lifeguard qualification is desirable but not essential.
You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates prior to commencing employment.
