Gonville Hotel is a four-star hotel situated in the heart of Cambridge, overlooking the historic Parker’s Piece.Being located centrally makes Gonville Hotel the perfect base for a stay in the city, attracting both holidaymakers and businesspeople.

With a range of events and unique dining opportunities, our hotel is also a destination for people resident in the city.

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated person to lead the Sales Office at the Gonville Hotel.

To oversee and direct all aspects of Sales and Event Operations, including enquiries, negotiations, bookings, confirmations and contracting, organisation, event execution, invoicing,payment,and customer feedback. This role requires a proactive approach to sale sleads, maintaining customer relationships and securing new business. It is esssentail to maintain the highest level of guest satisfaction while working to maximise sales, occupancy and revenue. Additionally, the role involves being a brand ambassador for the hotel and Axiom hospitality.

Business Development:

To research, identify and introduce new and lapsed business oppotunities to support the hotel budgets in all segments and for all revenue streams (corporate, conference, event, leisure and social).

To own local sales delivery to drive business from hotel let specific opportunites to further drive share, including social media activities, welcome desks, showcases events etc

To drive regular Bring Back Old Business activities that are targeted, measured and reported upon.

To drive the implementation of the Hotel Sales and Marketing plan, updating information and recording results on a monthly basis to ensure positive activities are effectively evaluated and changed as apropiate

To be aware of hotel performance, identifying opportunities and risks that can be proactively impacted.

To successfully create and implement local promotions for groups, conference and events

To create, market, sell and promote products for social events (Gala Dinners,Formals,Christmas etc). To include the picing and involvement in the creation of marketing collateral alongside the marketing team.

To develop, promote and sell weddings  at your hotel. To include market research, price comparisons and creation of marketing collateral longside the marketing team.

To be available for showrounds, product launches and showcases outside of established business hours

To own the hotels shopping windows and maintain content up to date on all channels at all time

To lead and maintain effective sales lead generation within your hotel

To build strong relationships within the company business development and commercial community.


Administration

Manage the production and distribution of weekly function sheets

Reporting on enquiry levels to commercial manager on a daily basis

Ensuring lost business and enquiries are logged in the PMS and re-visited weekly

Ensure all HOD's are communicated to regarding any last minute bookings, VIP show rounds etc

Ensuring all lapsed leads and enquiries are re-visited monthly during scheduled sales calling days

Maintain the reservation database/diary to reflect all booking details, amendments,cancellations etc

Prepare and submit statistical information and issue performance  and forecast reports as necessary. Monitor availabilty on an ongoing basis

Ensuring the Sales Team have a dynamic pricing strategy and are confiednt in our pricing structure

Conduct daily briefings with the events team

Communicate new policies and procedures to all staff conncerned 

Maintain prompt and accurate record of departmental procedures, training records,staff reports, meetings, customer feedback and correspondence

 

You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates prior to commencing employment.
