The Hotel Indigo, London, Clerkenwell is a new build hotel in the design led Clerkenwell area of London. The hotel will be 168 guestrooms incorporating Architect and Goldsmith rooms alongside Clockmaker suites. The rooms' design have a link with industries that have a local connection. The hotel will have an all day dining restaurant, a lobby bar and it is connected to a traditional grade 2 listed pub named the Hat and Feathers which sits proudly on the corner of Goswell and Clerkenwell Roads.
We are looking for a strategic, creative, and results-driven Marketing & Events Manager to lead and execute marketing initiatives that drive brand awareness, guest engagement, and revenue growth. In this role, you will develop and implement marketing strategies across multiple channels while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Your role
We are dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences and establishing a strong market presence. The Marketing Manager will lead the end-to-end marketing strategy for a single London hotel, driving brand awareness, revenue, and local relevance through integrated campaigns and compelling storytelling. This role is responsible for building strong community outreach initiatives and local partnerships, developing and delivering a dynamic events calendar, and managing the hotel’s website and online channels to ensure accuracy, performance, and brand consistency. The Marketing Manager will oversee content creation and marketing collateral design across digital and print, manage social media channels with a clear tone of voice and engagement strategy, and plan and activate seasonal and tactical marketing campaigns. Acting as brand guardian, they will ensure all communications, partnerships, and guest-facing touchpoints align with brand standards while remaining authentic to the local London market. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be a confident brand ambassador for the hotel, meticulously following brand guidelines. They will be able to show evidence of strong creativity and have a keen eye for detail. The candidate will demonstrate strong proactivity and forward-thinking, and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Drive hotel’s full Marketing Strategy and Local Events Calendar
- Manage hotel website and restaurant and bar websites with engaging content
- Create online and printed collaterals meticulously in-line with brand standards
- Partner with local businesses and build relationships within the local community
- Manage PR agency’s media and influencer stay requests and take ownership of ensuring they are booked in with hotel team and Food & Beverage teams
- Managing digital content spend through IHG and owned channels
- Monitoring and allocating marketing budgets
- Monitoring performance of marketing campaigns, ROI and results
- Conducting research and analysing data to identify and define audiences
- Deep-dive familiarisation and research into local market, audience, and how to target
- Prepare monthly reports on Marketing activities with detailed performance statistics
- Organise and attend events and launches, supporting operations team with execution
- Understanding the wider hotel business and keeping up to date with the hotel’s commercial strategy and promotions
- Understand the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand
- Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
The core skills and experience required to succeed:
- Minimum 4 years Marketing experience in hotel or hospitality-related business.
- BA Degree in Marketing, Hospitality or Business preferred but not essential.
- Qualifications in Social Media and Digital Marketing preferred.
- Demonstrates experience of developing detailed marketing plans and campaigns including project management skills, briefing, planning and execution.
- Proven track record in brand alignment, creative campaigns and social engagement.
- Demonstrates photography and visual content skills and flair.
- Competence with design software such as Canva, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Proven track record in copywriting with examples available to be provided.
- Strong social media image and reel editing skills.
- In-depth understanding of digital marketing and performance metrics.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of digital marketing techniques, including paid social media, application of social media channels, use of customer communication channels including email and website management. Solid understanding of development for dynamic websites and Content Management Systems.
- Confidence in leveraging partnerships and local community contacts for collaborations.
- Ability to identify specific action steps, accountabilities and timelines for workload including able to hold self-accountable for achieving results.
- Adaptability and ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Demonstrates an eye for detail and experience of delivering high quality and professional marketing creative and written content, developed both internally and through the use of appropriate agency resources.
- Gains the confidence and trust of others through their own authenticity, ethical standards and follow-through on commitments.
- Strong organisation and planning skills.
- Acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
