We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially aware Management Accountant (Capex) to join our finance team, supporting a portfolio of hotels. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in managing capital expenditure, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic investment decisions across the business.

Your role
  • Managing all CAPEX-related accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
  • Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy across additions, disposals, and transfers
  • Performing regular reconciliations between the fixed asset register and general ledger
  • Calculating and posting depreciation in line with accounting standards and company policies
  • Producing monthly CAPEX reports and supporting financial analysis for decision-making
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and internal controls
  • Supporting internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required
  • Partnering with hotel teams and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial processes
  • Managing CAPEX trackers and monitoring project spend across the portfolio
  • Supporting asset verification and periodic physical audits
  • Ad-hoc travel requirements for meetings, training and audit responsibilities.

The core skills and experience required to succeed

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or QBE
  • Proven experience in CAPEX accounting and fixed asset management
  • Must have held a finance role in the United Kingdom
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator, able to work across departments and present financial data clearly
  • Experience within hospitality or multi-site environments is advantageous
