Set on the outskirts of Maidstone in Kent, the Duke of Edinburgh is a vibrant, wet-led, sports and music-focused pub, that has been proudly serving the Barming locals since the mid 1800’s.

With the River Medway forming its southern boundary, Barming village is located west of Maidstone, just one mile outside of the main town centre, so it still retains much of its rural character whilst benefiting from easy access to the wider urban area. The area is currently benefiting from vast residential development, which is contributing to a growing catchment area and population locally.

The Duke of Edinburgh currently trades seven days per week from 12.00 noon onwards, with a loyal and varied customer base. Day to day the pub welcomes their more mature lunchtime and afternoon regulars, followed by the after-work crowds, locals popping in for their pint and catch up and students and visitors to the nearby hospital or heath opposite. Happy Hour is between 4pm and 7pm daily and it remains a key driver of early-evening trade. The pub screens major sporting events via Sky Sports and TNT Sports, covering football, rugby, golf, horse racing, darts, and other popular fixtures and outdoor screens extend this offer into the garden during suitable weather. The Duke supports local groups and activities, including sponsorship of Larkfield football team and hosting a ladies’ darts team every Thursday, a weekly live music programme runs every Saturday night, with a karaoke event held on the last Friday of every month. The hugely anticipated annual Summer Music Festival in July attracts several hundred attendees and features multiple live bands across the day.

Internally, the Duke of Edinburgh houses a feature servery with an open-plan trade area for approx.60 covers and a conservatory space housing a darts board and pool table. There is a good sized trade kitchen on site which is not currently utilised, allowing scope for future development of a food offer.

Externally, the rear of the property there is a patio area for 20 covers and garden space with bench seating for approximately 40 covers, together with private customer car parking.
