Job Description
As Sales Executive for the North Region, you will be responsible for driving rooms revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities across our key sales-influenced segments: Business Transient, Business Group, and Leisure Group.
You will play a vital role in expanding our client base, uncovering new opportunities, and strengthening relationships with existing accounts to increase market share and revenue. With a focus on the York and Edinburgh markets, you’ll be proactive in developing partnerships, promoting our hotels, and growing share of wallet for Splendid Hospitality Group.

Role in our Family
The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Sales (North), you will play a key role in driving revenue growth and expanding market share across our portfolio in the North Region. This is a hands-on sales role, ideal for someone who is proactive, confident, and passionate about building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Under the leadership of the DOS North, identifying, researching, and pursuing new business opportunities to increase revenue and drive market share in the North Region
- Lead Generation: Proactively generate leads through research, networking, and targeted outreach, using both existing and cold data
- Brand Partnerships: Working with brand key account team to ensure opportunities are maximised
- Local Network: Building strong relationships within the local geographic area elevating the presence of the SHG properties across multiple sectors – construction, rail, public sector, education, sports, entertainment, non accommodation venues etc etc
- Building relationships: Researching, identifying and building relationships with corporate clients, travel management agents, group agents and leisure partners where appropriate
- Marketing / Promotions: Devising and communicating regular SHG promotions and subsequently driving awareness on behalf of the SHG portfolio
- Cross Sell: Deliver £25k pro rata revenue into other SHG properties throughout the UK
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Staying up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market changes to identify new opportunities
- Sales Target Achievement: Meeting sales influenced segment targets and KPIs related to new business acquisition and revenue growth.
- Reporting & Analysis: Tracking all customer communication and subsequently sales performance, using Salesforce
About You:
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, confidence, and curiosity to the role. You will be proactive in finding opportunities and thrive in building relationships from scratch.
- A confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Comfortable picking up the phone and speaking with cold leads
- Motivated by exceeding goals and targets
- A confident presenter, able to engage audiences authentically
- Proactive and naturally inquisitive, with a passion for learning sales skills
- Willing to travel for client meetings, site visits, and networking events
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the hotel sector
- Experience delivering presentations to groups or clients
- Working knowledge of Salesforce
