Nestled in the idyllic countryside of Suffolk, the beautiful Ickworth Hotel is now seeking a motivated and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our brilliant team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a luxury hotel known for its exceptional service and welcoming culture.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team and contribute to our ongoing success. This a permanent role, at 48 hours per week (including weekends), with a salary of £30,476 per annum, plus generous service charge.

You will:

As a Commis Chef, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in our fast-paced kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their skills and grow within a supportive and creative environment.

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to our restaurant’s standards and recipes.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest quality.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Support senior chefs with various kitchen tasks, including food prep, plating, and inventory management.
• Participate in menu planning and contribute innovative ideas for new dishes.
• Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene and safety practices.

What we need:

  • Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role in a reputable establishment will be beneficial; however, training will be provided.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • A friendly and engaging personality, with a passion for hospitality and great service and a desire to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Food Hygiene level 2 would be beneficial.
