Salary: £35-40,000 depending on experience

Fowey Hall Hotel, nestled on the breathtaking Cornish coast, is a luxurious haven of charm. Steeped in history and surrounded by stunning landscapes, our hotel has become synonymous with excellence in natural hospitality. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our team, ensuring that our guests experience the epitome of comfort and cleanliness during their stay.

Position Overview:

As the Housekeeping Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of service, and contributing to the overall success of Fowey Hall Hotel. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in housekeeping management, a passion for delivering outstanding customer service, and the ability to lead a team to success. This a permanent role, at 40 hours per week over 5 days (including weekends), with an annual salary of £35 - 40,000, plus generous service charge and a brilliant benefit package.


Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations to deliver an outstanding guest experience: You will manage the exceptional housekeeping team to ensure that all 60 bedrooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standard. Working with your team to ensure turnarounds are completed in a timely manner. You will consistently monitor and look to improve standards and performance of the team with an emphasis on training and development.
  • To be a hands-on operational leader and dedicated people manager: Leading and inspiring a team of housekeeping professionals you will set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budget and policies. You will maintain excellent staffing levels to cover business demands, oversee recruitment and support with training and learning opportunities. You will ensure your team are fully informed with any business or procedural changes.
  • Ensure a safe environment for our guests: You will maintain and check all equipment regularly and report any defects. Ensure all equipment and chemicals are used correctly as per manufacturer instructions. Oversee the remainder of the housekeeping team to ensure they are adhering to these standards. You will work alongside other heads of departments effectively to ensure that communication is efficient and purposeful.


To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous Management or supervisory experience in housekeeping, within a hospitality environment.
  • Commerical awareness - managing a budget, labour cost control and P&L understanding
  • Charisma, an engaging personality with a passion for hospitality and excellent service.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen eye for detail, working to tight timeframes and enjoy a physical job role
  • Ability to interact with all guests, and to have fun, engaging with our younger guests.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, health and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
