The Role
Steatite Communications is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex projects within the defence and secure communications sector.

Reporting to the Project Management Office, this role is responsible for managing projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery against scope, budget, quality and timescales. Working collaboratively with engineering, commercial, operational and business development teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, bid support, framework management and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the delivery of complex engineering and communications projects from concept through to completion.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, commercial and supply chain functions.
• Monitor project risks, issues, quality and performance, implementing mitigation actions where required.
• Support the development of business cases, bids and customer proposals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Chair customer review meetings and provide regular project performance reporting.
• Ensure supplier performance and contractual deliverables meet project requirements.
• Manage public sector framework compliance, governance, renewals and call-off activities.
• Coordinate responses to ITTs, RFQs and mini-competitions, ensuring high-quality and compliant submissions.
• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, governance and bid processes.

Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will bring experience managing technical or engineering projects within a structured project environment together with excellent stakeholder management and organisational skills.

Essential:
• Proven project management experience within engineering, communications, IT or defence.
• Strong understanding of project governance, planning, risk management and project controls.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and customer expectations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
• PRINCE2, APM PMQ or an equivalent project management qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Desirable:
• Experience within defence, secure communications or UK public sector procurement.
• Knowledge of bid management, framework agreements and public sector procurement processes.
• Familiarity with ITIL4, IT Service Management or Service Level Agreements.
• Eligibility to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance (UK nationals only).
