Hoppers restaurants are seeking a Head of Marketing to lead the ongoing Marketing growth and development of our award-winning, critically acclaimed brand. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Marketing looking for ownership, influence, and responsibility, with a clear pathway for growth.
Working closely with our Co-Founder & Creative Director, Karan Gokani, the ideal candidate will be responsable for growing the brand both domestically and internationally while  maintaining brand ethos and integrity.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for someone who understands restaurants, loves food and culture, and is excited to hit the ground running in a busy, dynamic restaurant group where every day brings new challenges and opportunities.

About Hoppers

Hoppers was founded by JKS Restaurants and Karan Gokani in October 2015. The first Hoppers in Soho was inspired by toddy shops, home cooking and roadside stalls of Sri Lanka and South India, and served its namesake Hoppers alongside Dosas, Kothu, Short Eats, Rice and Roasts. The acclaim soon followed with reviews from London Evening’s Standard’s Fay Maschler and the late Sunday Times critic A.A. Gill who applauded Hoppers for its “seductive, comehither menu” and “spectacular, impressive, authentic, confident and swaggering kitchen”.The restaurant went on to secure its Michelin Bib Gourmand in its first year.

Following the success of Hoppers Soho, a second Hoppers at Marylebone’s St Christopher’s Place, themed around the iconic Tropical Modernist movement of the late Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, opening in September 2017. Hoppers King’s Cross, the third and largest of the three restaurants opened in February 2020 inspired by the much-travelled coastal journey from Colombo, the island’s capital, to the historical Dutch town of Galle.

Our brand new Hoppers in Shoreditch inside the iconic Tea Builing is now open. Marking ten years since we opened Soho, our new restaurant looks ahead to the new chapter, with plenty of new dishes, drinks and stories to share.

In the past ten years Hoppers has won several awards and is recognised as one of the leading South Asian restaurant brands in the UK and internationally. Over the coming years, Hoppers has plans to grow across the UK and Internationally providing numerous opportunities for its team members to develop and take on new and exciting roles.

The role

Strategic

• Develop and execute the group's marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and brand vision.
• Lead the marketing team in delivering cohesive campaigns and initiatives across all restaurant brands.
• Establish clear marketing KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure performance and ROI.
• Guide the evolution of brand positioning and marketing approach based on market insights and customer feedback.
• Champion the company's vision and values throughout all marketing activities and communications.
• Provide strategic marketing input to the senior leadership team for business planning and development.
• Oversee marketing budget allocation and optimisation across channels and restaurants.
• Develop and maintain the group's marketing calendar, ensuring alignment with operational activities.

Operations

• Ensure effective implementation of marketing initiatives across all restaurant locations.
• Develop robust processes for marketing campaign execution and evaluation.
• Coordinate with Operations to align marketing activities with operational capabilities.
• Oversee the production and distribution of all marketing materials and collateral.
• Implement systems for gathering and analysing customer data to inform marketing decisions.
• Drive efficiency in marketing operations through technology adoption and process improvement.
• Manage relationships with external agencies and marketing suppliers.
• Ensure consistency in marketing execution across multiple restaurant brands.

Communication

• Develop and maintain the group's tone of voice and communication guidelines.
• Oversee all external communications including press releases, media statements, and crisis communications.
• Build and nurture relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and industry partners.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
• Lead internal communications related to marketing initiatives and brand developments.
• Present marketing strategies and performance reports to the board and leadership team.
• Ensure effective knowledge sharing between marketing and operational teams.
• Act as brand guardian across all customer touchpoints and communications.
