JKS Restaurants are seeking a Commis Chef with experience in bakery and pastry to join their team for an exciting new opening in Dubai this year. The successful candidate will be friendly, personable and passionate with exceptional guest experience knowledge and skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commis Chef to join an award‑winning, critically acclaimed group, supporting a high‑profile opening. The restaurant will showcase one of JKS’ Michelin‑starred Indian concepts as part of the group’s continued international expansion/growth.

The Position

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Commis Chef – Bakery & Pastry to join our team in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of breads, viennoiserie, pastries, cakes, and desserts.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all bakery and pastry products.
  • Support daily mise en place and production requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and production schedules accurately.
  • Assist with stock rotation, inventory control, and minimizing wastage.
  • Work closely with the pastry team to deliver exceptional products and service.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a bakery and pastry kitchen is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of bread making, dough handling, baking techniques, and dessert preparation.
  • Passion for pastry, baking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Dubai-based candidates available for a trial will be preferred.
