JKS Restaurants are seeking a Wine Manager for their exciting new opening in Mayfair. The successful candidate will be friendly, personable and passionate about all things food and drink. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Wine Manager looking for a new role in an award winning, critically acclaimed group.

The Position

As Wine Manager you will be responsible for delivering the highest levels of service and an exceptional guest experience within the restaurant and private dining rooms. You will manage the wine list, liaise with suppliers and ensure an incredible choice is recommended and available to our customers, both to complement their tastes and to pair with menu choices.

  • Provide detailed descriptions of wine for training purposes – your descriptions will always strike balance between technical, personal and descriptive language.
  • Maintain and develop an excellent knowledge of wine, wine suppliers and attend wine tastings.
  • Deliver regular wine training which are relevant to the offering currently listed.
  • Maintain all wine lists so they are up to date and factually correct – digitally and physically.
  • Ensure wine cellar is always fully stocked and clean, checking vintages.
  • Carry out weekly wine stock-taking, ordering, purchasing, processing invoices and liaising with suppliers.

The successful Wine Manager will have:

  • An engaging and personable nature;
  • A passion for hospitality and delivering an exceptional guest experience;
  • Prior experience as a Wine Manager or Head Sommelier within a quality restaurant;
  • WSET Level 3 or equivalent Sommelier qualification (essential);
  • A professional and confident communication style with fluent English language ability;
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team;
  • An excellent knowledge of food and beverage;
  • The eagerness to continually learn and develop your career within hospitality.
