About the role:
As a Social Care Manager for Day Supports across Lucan and Whitehall, you will lead a service rooted in New Directions, ensuring that each person has opportunities to live a self directed, meaningful, and connected life.
You will oversee the day to day running of Day Supports, delivering high quality, person centred practice in line with relevant standards and best practice guidance. You will cultivate a culture where individuality, autonomy, and personal growth are prioritised.
Working closely with your Regional Manager, you will maintain clear, effective communication to progress shared service goals. You will also be supported by a professional network, including an Advanced Autism Practitioner, Autism Practitioners, and a Quality & Safety Officer, ensuring access to specialist guidance for you and your team.
You will mentor and lead staff teams to deliver purposeful, person led supports. In partnership with everyone, you will enable person centred planning, helping people to develop meaningful visions for their lives and to identify practical steps to achieve them—whether through community participation, employment pathways, learning opportunities, or personal development.
This role requires a leader who champions capacity building, independence, and interdependence, ensuring the level of support naturally reduces as each person’s confidence and skills grow.

Essential Qualifications:
• Honours Degree in Social Studies/Social Care or equivalent qualification.
• Have a qualification in Management.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and use of internet and email.
• A full, clean manual driving licence.
• A thorough understanding of HIQA regulations.
• CORU Registered.
Essential Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in a Management or Supervisory role in the area of Health or Social Care.
• Have knowledge and experience supporting Autistic people and/or those with Intellectual Disability.
• Experience managing and adhering to budgets as agreed by the Finance Dept.
• Develop and manage rosters for the team, allocating staff as per service needs or requirements.
• Ability to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and standards while ensuring quality service delivery for the individual supported .
• Managing and responding effectively to internal and external reporting requirements
• Managing staff induction, probation, supervision and performance management.
• Ability to ensure effective governance, operational management and administration of the service.
• Communicate effectively both internally and externally within the role.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to collaborate effectively, share expertise, and ensure the best outcomes for those we support.
• Confidence and experience liaising with external agencies and stakeholders.
• Ability to embrace support and lead change in alignment with the organisations ongoing service improvement initiatives.
Desirable:
• Experience of applying the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities, Trust in Care and Adult Safeguarding
• Experience in a similar role
• Have knowledge and experience supporting Autistic people and/or those with Intellectual Disability.
• Ability to promote independence in individuals with support needs.
