Hours: Fulltime – 40 hours per week, including weekends
Reporting to: Restaurant Manager
Job Purpose:
The Waiter will be responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service within Rockliffe restaurants. This is a hands-on, guest-focused role where attention to detail, professionalism and genuine hospitality are at the heart of every interaction.
Key responsibilities of the Waiter:
- Deliver exceptional food and beverage service throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Prepare restaurant sections to the highest standard prior to service, ensuring all mise en place is complete
- Accurately take food and beverage orders using the restaurant POS system
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, confidently and professionally
- Ensure bills are processed accurately and in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain excellent product knowledge to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations
- Support colleagues across the restaurant to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Assist with the preparation and resetting of the restaurant before, during and after service
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional service
- Support supervisors and managers in maintaining operational standards
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar and host teams throughout service
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues during busy periods
- Take ownership of personal development and actively participate in training sessions
- Contribute to a professional, respectful and supportive working environment
- Deliver warm, friendly and personalised service to every guest
- Build genuine rapport with guests, creating memorable dining experiences
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of menus, beverages, wine and daily specials
- Confidently recommend food and beverage pairings to enhance the guest experience
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests
- Handle guest queries and concerns professionally, referring more complex issues to management where appropriate
- Maintain immaculate presentation of tables, service stations and the restaurant environment throughout service
- Consistently uphold Rockliffe's luxury hospitality standards
- Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures at all times
- Ensure allergen information is communicated accurately, and food safety procedures are followed
- Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas
- Report hazards, accidents or defective equipment immediately
- Promote responsible alcohol service in accordance with licensing legislation
- Maintain exceptional personal presentation, grooming and uniform standards
- Handle guest information responsibly and confidentially
- Comply with GDPR and company data protection policies at all times
- Report any data protection concerns immediately
- Ensure confidential information is only shared where appropriate
