Maintenance Assistant
Location: Rockliffe, Darlington
Salary: £27,872 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Reporting to: Maintenance Manager & Assistant Maintenance Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure the hotel is maintained to the highest standard by working as part of the maintenance team. The responsibilities of the role are to support and assist with both planned and reactive maintenance, defect repair and health & safety checks.
Key responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant:
- To ensure that any tasks carried out are done efficiently and any waste is kept to a minimum
- To maximise revenue opportunities by up selling the resort’s products and services wherever possible
- To be able to work as a team member and communicate effectively at all levels.
- To participate willingly in organised training sessions within the hotel and own department
- To maintain the hotel to the highest level of presentation ensuring all general decor is in excellent repair
- To ensure all equipment and furniture is in good working condition, making repairs where necessary
- To ensure daily health and safety checks are carried out in accordance with the company’s health and safety policy e.g., carrying out floor walks to identify any fire hazards or health and safety issues
- To carry out any general maintenance tasks, such as, changing light bulbs, minor electrical work and painting
- To assist with any rebuilding or office refurbishment work that may be required
- To respond quickly and positively to any department requests for maintenance repairs
