Hotel Finance Manager

As part of the wider Group Finance team, you will be involved in more than traditional financial management. Alongside overseeing reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and capital investment, you will help shape a modern and efficient finance function, supporting systems improvements, process simplification, and the adoption of new technologies and AI-driven solutions across the business.

Job Purpose

The Finance Manager plays a key role within the Rockliffe Group, providing financial leadership, commercial insight, and operational support across The Feversham Arms and The Pheasant. Working closely with Hotel General Managers and department leaders, you will act as a trusted business partner, helping teams understand performance, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions that support long-term success.

This is a varied and hands-on role, combining management accounting, financial stewardship, and commercial business partnering. You will take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management, while supporting wider group initiatives to enhance systems, streamline processes, and create a modern, efficient finance function.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and meaningful performance analysis
• Partner with Hotel General Managers and department leaders to provide commercial insight and support operational decision-making
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across both properties
• Monitor financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior year results, identifying risks, opportunities, and key trends
• Oversee capital expenditure reporting and investment monitoring, ensuring projects remain aligned to approved budgets
• Maintain robust financial controls, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data
• Support year-end accounts, audits, statutory reporting, and wider finance administration activities
• Build financial models, forecasts, dashboards, and performance metrics to support business planning and investment decisions
• Analyse business performance and provide practical recommendations to improve profitability, productivity, and cost control
• Support operational leaders in developing commercial awareness and understanding of financial performance
• Drive continuous improvement through enhanced reporting, streamlined processes, and technology-led solutions
• Contribute to wider Rockliffe Group finance initiatives, supporting consistency, collaboration, and best practice across the portfolio

Requirements:

Essential

• Significant experience within management accounting, commercial finance, or a broad finance management role
• Proven experience producing management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
• Strong financial control, reporting, and analytical skills
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear and actionable business recommendations
• Experience partnering with operational managers and influencing key stakeholders
• Strong spreadsheet, financial modelling, and reporting capabilities
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience working with finance systems and process improvement initiatives
• Interest in leveraging technology and automation to improve efficiency and insight

Desired

• CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
• Experience within hospitality, leisure, luxury hotels, or multi-site operations
• Experience supporting capital expenditure, refurbishment, or investment projects
• Understanding of hotel revenue management and hospitality performance metrics
• Experience delivering systems implementations, reporting improvements, or finance transformation projects
• Previous experience mentoring, developing, or supporting finance colleagues
