Salary: £26,832 per annum
Hours: Fulltime – 40 hours per week, including weekends
Reporting to: Restaurant Manager
Job Purpose:
The Bartender will be responsible for delivering exceptional beverage service within Rockliffe’s flagship restaurant, creating memorable guest experiences through outstanding hospitality, expert product knowledge and exceptional attention to detail.
Key responsibilities of the Bartender:
Business
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, coffees and non-alcoholic beverages to the highest standards.
- Ensure the bar is fully prepared prior to service, maintaining excellent mise en place and presentation throughout the shift.
- Maintain consistency in drink preparation, presentation and service standards.
- Process orders, billing and payments accurately using the POS system.
- Support stock replenishment, stock rotation and the organisation of the bar throughout service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the bar, glassware and beverage displays.
- Work closely with restaurant colleagues and the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of wines, cocktails, spirits, beers, coffee and the Rialto beverage offering.
- Support the achievement of departmental revenue targets through confident recommendations and effective upselling.
Team
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional service throughout the restaurant.
- Support supervisors and managers in maintaining operational standards.
- Communicate effectively with the floor team and kitchen throughout service.
- Demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm and a positive attitude at all times.
- Participate fully in training sessions, tastings and menu briefings.
- Contribute to a respectful, supportive and motivated working environment.
Guest Experience & Quality
- Deliver warm, friendly and personalised service to every guest.
- Create memorable dining experiences through engaging conversation and attentive hospitality.
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of wines, cocktails, beers, spirits and food pairings.
- Confidently recommend beverages that complement guests' dining experiences.
- Prepare drinks with precision, consistency and attention to detail.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
- Handle guest feedback professionally, referring concerns to supervisors where appropriate.
- Ensure the bar and restaurant environment remain clean, organised and welcoming throughout service.
- Consistently uphold Rockliffe's luxury hospitality standards.
Health & Safety
- Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures at all times.
- Promote responsible alcohol service in accordance with licensing legislation.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised bar and service areas.
- Follow allergen procedures and ensure beverages are prepared safely and accurately.
- Report hazards, accidents or defective equipment immediately.
- Maintain exceptional personal presentation, grooming and uniform standards.
Data Protection
- Handle guest and employee information responsibly and confidentially.
- Comply with GDPR and company data protection requirements at all times.
- Report any data protection concerns immediately.
- Ensure confidential information is shared only on a need-to-know basis.
