Located on the edge of the charming seaside town of Seaton, Thornfield Care Home provides personalised Residential, Dementia and Respite care for up to 52 residents. We are now looking for a dedicated Maintenance Officer to take responsibility for maintaining our building and equipment to a high standard. What We Offer:
- £13.57 per hour
- Contracted to 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday, occasional weekend work and on-call cover as required)

Your Role:
As Maintenance Officer, you will ensure that our home remains safe, functional and inviting for residents, staff and visitors. From quick fixes to regular inspections and improvement projects, your work will have a real and lasting impact.
You will:
- Complete day-to-day repairs promptly and professionally, including plumbing, joinery and minor electrical work
- Carry out regular checks on fire safety systems, lighting, alarms and essential equipment
- Maintain the exterior and grounds, including basic gardening and waste removal
- Support with installations, upgrades and planned refurbishments
- Liaise with the care team and management to ensure any issues are addressed quickly
- Keep detailed maintenance records in line with regulatory and safety standards
- Be available for occasional weekend or emergency callouts if required
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who is reliable, proactive and takes pride in creating a safe and pleasant environment. Ideally, you will have some maintenance experience in a care home or similar setting, though this is not essential. Most importantly, you will have a positive, helpful attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.
