Barton House Care Home is a specialist 24 hour nursing service supporting 15 adults living with complex mental health conditions. Set within a homely, supportive environment, the home focuses on person centred care, stability and meaningful daily living, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and individual support.

Male Mental Health Support Worker Contract

  • £13.71 per hour
  • Full time, part time or bank contracts available
  • Day shift and night shift available
  • 12 hour shifts
  • Hours will be discussed at interview due to ongoing changes within the service
  • Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

Role Overview
Barton House is transitioning into an all male service, and we are looking for Male Mental Health Support Workers to join the team and support this next stage of the service.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide high quality, person centred support to individuals living with complex mental health needs within a structured and specialist care environment. You will play an important role in helping individuals feel safe, supported and valued while promoting emotional wellbeing, independence and stability.

Working closely with the wider care team, you will support individuals with daily routines, personal care where required, meaningful engagement and emotional wellbeing while ensuring support plans are followed safely and consistently. You will build positive relationships, recognise changes in behaviour or mental wellbeing and respond appropriately to help maintain a calm, supportive and therapeutic environment.

What We Are Looking For

  • Male applicants are required for this role due to the needs of the service
  • Applications are welcomed from both new and experienced candidates
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health needs is beneficial but not essential
  • A calm, patient and compassionate approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to respond positively within challenging or complex situations
  • A reliable and professional approach with commitment to person centred care
