Barton House Care Home is a specialist 24 hour nursing service supporting 15 adults living with complex mental health conditions. Set within a homely, supportive environment, the home focuses on person centred care, stability and meaningful daily living, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and individual support.

Activities Coordinator Contract

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Contracted to 18 hours per week
  • Set shift pattern: Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

Role Overview
Barton House is transitioning into an all male service, and we are looking for an Activities Coordinator to play an important role in supporting individuals living with complex mental health needs.

You will plan and deliver engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction. Activities will be tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs, with a focus on supporting working age adults with complex mental illness.

Building positive relationships is essential, helping you understand individual preferences, interests and support needs to encourage inclusive participation. You will plan both individual and group activities, supporting residents to remain active, engaged and connected with their local community.

A full driving licence is preferred, as the role may involve driving the home's minibus to support residents with outings, activities and appointments.

What We Are Looking For

  • A creative, organised and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, person centred activities
  • Previous experience supporting working age adults with complex mental health needs is preferred
  • A full driving licence with confidence driving a minibus is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • A genuine interest in supporting individuals to maintain independence, wellbeing and meaningful connections
