Darcy House Care Home is a luxury, purpose-built home located in the beautiful town of Matlock, Derbyshire. We provide personalised Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Palliative care for up to 78 residents.

We’re looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team, ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Whether you’re experienced in catering or looking to start a new career, this role offers the opportunity to make a real difference every day.

What We Offer

  • £12.21 per hour
  • Contracted to 36 hours per week (8am–6pm, 4 days per week, alternate weekends, 1-hour unpaid break per shift)
  • Paid DBS, Pension scheme, Free uniform
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

What You Will Do
As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, helping to create well-balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. You will keep the kitchen clean and organised, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times. You will also support with deliveries, safe storage of supplies, and ensure equipment and workspaces are maintained to the highest standard. Above all, you will work as part of a supportive team, contributing to a positive dining experience for our residents.

What We’re Looking For

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and handling principles
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with good communication skills
  • Previous kitchen or catering experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
