Dalgety Bay Care Home is a purpose-built, premium service in the beautiful coastal town of Fife, providing exceptional Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care for up to 68 residents.

We are now looking for a skilled Chef to join our culinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your talent to create fresh, nutritious meals that bring comfort, joy, and wellbeing to our residents every day.

What We Offer

  • £13.68 per hour
  • Contracted to 40 hours per week or flexible bank (zero-hours) contracts available
  • Paid PVG, pension scheme, free uniform, and onsite parking
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

What You Will Do
As Chef, you will prepare and cook a variety of meals to a high standard, ensuring they meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences. You will support the Head Chef with menu planning, stock control, and ordering, while keeping accurate records such as temperature checks to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

You will help maintain a clean, safe kitchen, oversee stock rotation, and contribute to a positive dining experience that makes mealtimes something residents look forward to. When required, you will take charge of the kitchen and ensure smooth service.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications – City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or equivalent
  • Food Safety – Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is essential
  • Experience – Previous chef experience, ideally including catering for dietary requirements
  • Skills – Organised, a good communicator, and confident working both independently and as part of a team
  • Passion – A genuine interest in making a positive impact on the lives of older people through nutritious, well-presented food
