Gardener Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Gardener Assistant to help deliver all aspects of garden care and maintenance of the beautiful grounds at our new Fairmont Windsor Park hotel. The property is large, consisting of mixed and herbaceous beds and borders, natural areas with long grasses, parkland, trees, lawns, lakes and some formal areas. There will also be a small working kitchen garden.

The role will suit a knowledgeable, confident, hardworking Gardener Assistant who can communicate well with others while working within a small team. You will be passionate about gardening whilst developing the function and maintaining relationships with our residents.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience of working on the grounds of a large estate with strong general plant knowledge
• Competent to work in compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
• Ability to work on your own as well as within a team environment
• A confident individual with strong communications skills and holding a full driving licence
• Practical hands-on experience in the maintenance of large gardens: lawn care, hedge trimming, pest and weed control, border development and maintenance
• Experience of maintaining hard landscaping and external facilities
• Experience of using the typical range of garden machinery
• Any qualifications within the horticultural trade would be desirable (Pa1/Pa6 and chainsaw)
