The Role
In this role, as a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial administration of the hotel. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers to grow their career in hospitality finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and managing payment runs
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Reconciling daily hotel revenue and banking transactions
  • Supporting payroll administration, including timesheet collation and query resolution
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems in line with HMRC and company requirements
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Liaising with department heads to ensure accurate coding and approval of expenditure
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial analysis and projects
  • Managing petty cash and staff expense claims

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally within hospitality or a similar fast-paced environment
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent), or actively working towards a finance qualification
  • Confident using accounting software (experience with Sage, Xero, or similar is advantageous)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly across departments
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement
