An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Front of House team at one of Scotland's most iconic castle hotels.

As we reposition Dalhousie Castle at the forefront of luxury hospitality, we are seeking passionate, professional, and guest-focused Receptionists to help deliver exceptional service and create memorable experiences for every guest.

Reporting directly to the Front of House Manager, you will be one of the first points of contact for guests, playing a key role in shaping their experience from arrival through to departure.

As a Front of House Receptionist, you will be responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and personalised welcome to all guests whilst ensuring the smooth operation of the Front Desk.

You will act as an ambassador for Dalhousie Castle, confidently promoting the hotel's facilities, experiences, and services whilst ensuring every guest receives exceptional care and attention throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities:


Guest Experience

• Deliver a warm and professional welcome to all guests
• Complete guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately
• Respond to guest enquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional manner
• Build rapport with guests and personalise their experience wherever possible
• Promote the castle's facilities, dining experiences, and activities

Front Desk Operations

• Manage reservations and guest profiles using the hotel PMS system
• Process payments and maintain accurate billing records
• Answer telephone and email enquiries professionally and promptly
• Assist with dining reservations, falconry experiences, transport arrangements, and special requests
• Ensure guest information is recorded accurately and confidentially

Administration & Communication

• Maintain clear guest notes and handover information
• Liaise effectively with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Management teams
• Assist with daily arrival preparations and pre-arrival guest contact
• Ensure all guest requests are communicated and followed through appropriately

Standards & Compliance

• Maintain the highest standards of presentation and professionalism
• Ensure Front of House areas remain clean, organised, and welcoming
• Follow all company procedures relating to health & safety, security, and GDPR compliance
• Support the wider operation during busy periods where required

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience within hospitality, customer service, or a guest-facing environment
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is confident, professional, and approachable
• Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail
• Enjoys creating memorable guest experiences
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Has strong organisational and administrative skills
• Is comfortable using computer systems and learning new technology
• Has a genuine passion for hospitality and luxury service

Previous hotel reception experience would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
