Housekeeping Supervisors
Purpose of Role This role is responsible for the daily checking of the cleanness of all bedrooms and public areas of the Hotel thus making them pleasant for the guest. Checking that the general standards of each bedroom are in line with the Hotel standards and notifying the Executive Housekeeper of any problems or damage.
Main Duties
▪ To inspect guest rooms, including VIP, vacant, occupied and check-out rooms, turn-down (as assigned) to ensure that the standards are being achieved by each.
▪ Ensure that there is compliance with all hygiene regulations.
▪ Check the condition of the equipment provided.
▪ Check the standards of the rooms and public areas.
▪ Ensure sufficient supplies and equipment available to all staff to enable them to carry out their job.
▪ Know the services offered by the hotel, being able to inform all the guests and encourage their usage during their stay.
▪ Responsible for the stock levels of the amenities in the rooms.
▪ Take care of any lost property.
▪ Manage cleaning schedules to ensure consistent high levels of cleanliness are adhered to.
▪ Assist with stock takes and control of inventories.
▪ Monitor consumption of cleaning products and amenities to control wastage.
▪ Responsible for cleanness of the room ensuring that the standards are met in accordance with the hotel’s specifications.
▪ Follow the current cleaning procedures ensuring productivity.
▪ Understand the use of the referenced cleaning products.
▪ Check the operation of equipment and the condition of the soft furnishings, and notify Executive Housekeeper of any defects or anomalies.
▪ Ensure that the guests are disturbed as little as possible by the work of the room attendants and that they respect the “Do not disturb” signs.
▪ To carry out any reasonable tasks requested of you by your supervisor.
▪ Manage team on allocated floors to ensure all areas are cleaned and all work is completed to the required standard.
▪ Take part in departmental meetings as well as internal training sessions.
▪ To ensure that all rooms are ready for the guests in accordance to the specific requirements of frequent guests.
▪ May be required to train trainees and new employees Provides genuine hospitality and recognition in the work area. Promotes hotel services and products.
▪ Possesses a high degree of product knowledge and relevant technical skills. Keeps abreast of events in the hotel.
▪ Anticipates guest needs and takes ownership of guest concerns and requests; acts decisively to ensure guest satisfaction.
▪ Demonstrates high degree of standards awareness; promotes teamwork and acts as a role model.
▪ Displays warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers.
▪ Complies with the hotel Dress and Grooming Standards; lives the Hotel’s Mission, Values & Essentials; exemplifies the 5 M’s ‘My Colleagues’ and ‘My Guest’ behaviours and values in their interaction with colleagues and guests throughout the hotel.
▪ Complies with the Hotel’s professional codes of conduct, general rules and procedures.
▪ Complies with the Hotel’s general policy requirements: Health & Safety; Fire & Emergency; Bomb Threat; Lost Property.
▪ Remains vigilant to potential risks and threats (of whatever nature) during passage round the building. Liaises with appropriate colleagues (Security, Engineering etc.) to minimise the impact of such risks.
▪ Ensures and maintains the security and confidentiality of information relating to guest / colleague data held within the hotel. Re-directs ‘press’ calls at all times to the Sales and Marketing department and do not disclose any data to outside sources.
General
▪ Comply with the hotel Dress and Grooming Standards; live the Hotel’s Mission, Values & Essentials; exemplify the 5 M’s ‘My Colleagues’ and ‘My Guest’ behaviours and values in their interaction with colleagues and guests throughout the hotel.
