The Opportunity

Are you ready to drive impactful sales, build lasting customer relationships, and make a real difference in the world of medical diagnostics? We’re looking for a passionate and results-driven Account Manager to lead sales efforts across the central region of Portugal. In this role, you’ll promote our innovative diagnostic solutions, build strong relationships with new and loyal customers, adding value and providing support to ensure the optimal performance of our instruments and reagents. Principal Accountabilities

Daily Planning & Alignment: Plan and organise daily activities in line with company strategy, ensuring alignment with broader regional objectives.

Tactical Sales Execution: Develop and implement tactical account plans that translate strategic goals into actionable sales initiatives within the territory.

Sales Target Ownership: Take responsibility for achieving sales targets and forecasts across a defined customer base, driving consistent growth and performance.

Performance & Market Analysis: Regularly analyse and report on sales performance, market dynamics, competitor activity, and emerging trends to inform strategy and business decisions.

Solution Promotion: Promote our diagnostic solutions by advising customers on ways to enhance laboratory efficiency and optimise workflow.

Product Demonstrations & Training: Conduct engaging product demonstrations and deliver effective customer training to ensure correct usage and maximise performance of our technologies.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively identifying new business opportunities through follow-ups and ongoing support.

Tender & Technical Support: Interpret tender documentation accurately and prepare technical submissions to support the bidding process.

Portfolio Promotion: Actively promote our full range of products and services, driving customer engagement and long-term value.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to follow-up, helping to expand customer relationships and uncover new business opportunities
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Well-organised with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a high sense of ownership and accountability
  • Fluency in both English and Portuguese is mandatory; proficiency in other European languages is an advantage
  • Good understanding of sales automation tools and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Experience:

  • Laboratory experience in Autoimmunity, Infectious Diseases, Allergy, or Molecular Biology is an asset
  • Account management experience, including identifying and developing sales leads and delivering professional presentations—preferably within the diagnostics sector—is highly valued

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences
