Stores Team Leader

Scarborough

Our purpose built Scarborough Bakery and Head Office site is located at Eastfield, on the approach to Scarborough.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Group Stores Manager, the Stores’ Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the team to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse.

Key Accountabilities
• Oversee the stores’ team to ensure the effective operation of all stores activities, identifying and acting upon any areas for improvement
• Ensure the stores are managed effectively, compliant with all relevant legislation and maintained to a consistently high standard
• Responsible for ensuring that the required quality and safety standards are implemented and maintained and highlight any risks to the Group Stores Manager
• First point of contact for any issues, liasing with Bakery Management to resolve issues
• Clear communication with the Group Stores Manager, ensuring issues are escalated
• Maintain documentation and records to ensure compliance with all legal and Company standards
• Management of the monthly stock-take process
• Work with the Group Stores Manager to support the development and training of all site Stores activities with Stores colleagues, to improve standards
• Ensure effective communication between colleagues regarding priorities, progress and performance
• Develop close working relationships with colleagues in other functions, such as Production, Hygiene and Maintenance

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
• Previous experience of leading a team as a Team Leader / Supervisor is essential
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Good team worker
• Planning and time management skills
• Flexible in approach to meet growing demands of the role
• Ability to solve problems and offer solutions
• Flexible to travel to other bakeries to support, as required
• IT skills, with experience of MS Office
• Forklift counterbalance licence is essential
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable

 

Working 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday, starting between 5.30am-7.30am and finishing between 2.30pm-4.30pm, with flexibility to work weekends as required for monthly stock-take
