Cleaning Team Leader - Durham


Our Durham Bakery and Offices are situated in the Land of the Prince Bishops - home to the famous Norman Cathedral and Castle. We are just off the A1 on the Dragonville Industrial Estate.

The Hygiene Team Leader will support the Hygiene Manager in leading a team of Hygiene Assistants to maintain the Bakery to a consistently high standard and to ensure legal compliance. In this full-time, permanent role you will lead a team in a fast-paced environment, with a variety of machinery and equipment across a range of tasks and as this is a hands on role you will be helping assist the team in maintaining the hygiene standards across our Durham Bakery.

Key Accountabilities
• Lead a team to ensure the completion of hygiene schedules to ensure the Bakery is compliant with all relevant legislation and maintained to a consistently high standard
• Responsible for ensuring that the required quality, safety, hygiene and environmental standards are implemented and maintained and highlight any risks to the Hygiene Manager
• Provide routine preventative maintenance through cleaning
• Maintain documentation and records to ensure compliance with all legal and Company standards
• Work with the Hygiene Manager to support the development and training of all site hygiene activities with Hygiene and Bakery colleagues, to improve standards throughout the Bakery
• Ensure effective communication between colleagues regarding priorities, progress and performance
• Develop close working relationships with colleagues in other functions, such as Production, Maintenance and Transport

Skills, Know-How & Experience
• Previous experience of leading a team as a Team Leader / Chargehand is essential
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Good team worker
• Planning and time management skills
• Flexible in approach to meet growing demands of the role
• Ability to solve problems and offer solutions
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable

  • Pay for this role is £10 per hour
  • The role is available on a flexible part time basis working approximately 30 hours per week.
  • The current shift patterns for this role may include weekends and a variety of shifts, starting between 5.00 a.m. and 7.45 a.m.
