HGV Driver Class 1

We are looking for class 1 drivers for one of JRL Group's key divisions; Trent Precast Concrete Ltd. The JRL Group is a highly successful, privately owned, national construction group head quartered in North London. With a turnover of in excess of £360m, the business is currently experiencing growth and as such seeks to strengthen our Precast team.
Trent Precast specializes in the manufacture and delivery of structural precast concrete units based in the heart of the country in Nottingham.
You will be driving to the depot's around the UK such as Newark site, Nottingham, London, Skeldsdale to name a few.

Responsibilities:
- Driving company vehicles to deliver loads to sites across the country
- Preparing the vehicle by conducting operator checks and maintenance
- Planning delivery schedules and routes with the Transport Manager
- Supervising or helping to load and unload goods
- Making sure loads are secured safely
- Following traffic reports and changing your route if necessary
- Completing delivery paperwork
- Routine maintenance such as topping up oil, tyre and brake checks before and after journeys
- Ensuring all rules on driver’s hours and working time directive are adhered to
Desirable Criteria:
- Excellent driving skills (assessment will need to be passed)
- The ability to work alone and concentrate for long periods
- Experience with heavy manufacuring/precast/steel
- A good understanding of driver’s hours regulations
- A polite and professional manner
- A good understanding of safety on the road and when loading and unloading
- The ability to complete record sheets and paperwork accurately
- Be trustworthy and reliable
- Be 18 years old or over
- Have previous HGV driving experience of at least 2 years
