This is a hands-on, site-based role — no office desk!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check levels, gradients and alignment for drainage and concrete works
  • Monitor concrete pours — verify dimensions, positions and compliance
  • Coordinate with groundworks, steel-fixing and shuttering teams
  • Record checks, submit reports and flag design/site issues early
  • Keep works on sequence and minimise disruption to other trades

MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience setting out concrete and drainage on construction sites
  • Confident reading 2D drawings, sections and site layout plans
  • Competent with laser levels, dumpy levels and total station
  • Understands concrete works, drainage gradients, manholes and headwalls
  • Can identify discrepancies between drawings and site — flag issues and suggest solutions
  • CSCS Card — Black or White preferred
  • SSSTS / SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification preferred
  • Clear spoken English — confident communicating with team and management
  • Reliable, self-motivated, works well under pressure

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience on housing, commercial or modular build sites
  • Steel-fixing or shuttering knowledge
  • Knowledge of UK specifications and NHBC standards
  • Own transport and full driving licence

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive daily rate — paid weekly, on time

  • Long-term work security — 3–4 year programme across Carlton-on-Trent and Peterborough sites
