Precast Production Supervisor
- Location: JRL Trent Precast Manufacturing Site, Skelmersdale
- Working hours: Monday – Friday, 7am – 5pm
- Pay rate: £17 an hour
JRL Trent Precast are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Supervisor to join their manufacturing team on a permanent basis at their Skelmersdale site. This role is key to ensuring daily production activities run safely, efficiently, and in line with quality and output targets within a precast concrete manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate production teams, manage resources effectively, and act as the link between the shop floor and management.
Key Responsibilities of a Precast Production Supervisor
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure output, quality, and safety targets are consistently achieved.
- Coordinate labour, plant, and materials across production areas to maintain smooth workflow and minimise downtime.
- Monitor team performance, address issues on the shop floor, and report progress, delays, and concerns to management.
- Supervise and support production operatives, ensuring tasks are carried out safely and to required standards.
- Ensure production plans, schedules, and priorities are clearly communicated and followed.
- Promote and enforce all health and safety procedures, including toolbox talks and safe systems of work.
- Work closely with quality, remedial, and logistics teams to resolve production and quality issues.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support the implementation of best practices.
- Maintain accurate production records and contribute to planning meetings as required.
Key Requirements of Production Supervisor
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a manufacturing, precast concrete, or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, resource planning, and workflow management.
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations in an industrial environment.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with operatives, management, and other departments.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to high standards.
