Hydraulic Engineer – Tower Cranes
Location: Peterborough, with some travel
Are you an expert in tower crane hydraulics with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges? We’re looking for a skilled Hydraulic Engineer to join our Tower Crane division and play a key role in keeping our high‑rise lifting operations safe, reliable, and efficient.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic issues on tower cranes
- Maintaining and servicing pumps, cylinders, HPUs, slew brakes, valves & hoses
- Providing hydraulic expertise during crane erection, climbing & dismantling
- Conducting pressure tests, leak checks, flushing & contamination control
- Supporting site teams with technical queries and emergency breakdowns
- Ensuring full compliance with LOLER, PUWER & BS 7121‑5 standards
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hydraulic engineering experience on tower cranes or lifting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics
- Skilled with pressure testing, fault diagnosis & fluid analysis
- Safety‑focused, methodical, and confident working on live construction sites
- Experience with major tower crane brands (Wolff, Comansa, Terex, Raimondi) – desirable
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical/Plant Engineering – desirable
