Quality Inspector

  • Location: Skelmersdale
  • Working hours: Monday – Friday, 7am – 5pm
  • Pay rate: £16

Trent Precast are looking for a detail-focused and reliable Quality Inspector to join their production team on a permanent basis. This role plays a vital part in ensuring finished precast concrete units meet required quality standards before dispatch. Previous experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or precast concrete is a MUST for this role. 

Key Responsibilities of a quality inspector

  • Inspect finished precast concrete units to ensure they meet company and customer quality standards.
  • Identify, record, and report defects accurately using quality check sheets and internal systems.
  • Carry out visual and dimensional checks in line with drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
  • Ensure any non-conforming products are clearly identified and communicated to supervisors and production teams.
  • Support corrective actions by working closely with production staff to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain clear and accurate quality records for traceability and audit purposes.
  • Ensure all inspections are carried out in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Assist with general quality and production tasks as required to support the wider operation.

Key Requirements of a quality inspector

  • Previous experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, construction, or precast concrete is a MUST.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to spot defects and inconsistencies.
  • Basic understanding of quality standards, drawings, or specifications 
  • Confident recording information accurately and following inspection procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
