The MEP Design Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design activities across construction or infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring the integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural elements, overseeing design consultants, ensuring compliance with codes and project requirements, and facilitating smooth communication between design and site execution teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Coordination:
Review and coordinate MEP designs from consultants and subcontractors.
Ensure integration of MEP systems with architectural, civil, and structural elements.
Facilitate design workshops, clash detection sessions, and coordination meetings.
Monitor design progress to ensure timely delivery in line with the project schedule.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in MEP design coordination, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of MEP systems and integration within large-scale projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Navisworks, and other design/coordination tools.
Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, etc.) and local building codes.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
