Trent Precast specializes in the manufacture and delivery of structural precast concrete units based in the heart of the country in Nottingham.

The JRL Group encompasses 14+ divisions delivering bespoke solutions for the most complex construction projects nationally. The need has arisen to enhance the accounting support of its’s day to day operations at the Newark location. As part of a new team the successful applicant will have a fantastic opportunity to develop their reporting and management skills and proficiencies which will enhance their career prospects. Career progression within the group is a real possibility. The role will report to the Financial Controller and will involve responsibility for the financial reporting for the JRL Modular business and support on other divisions within the group.

This role is mainly in Colwick but will need to travel to the Carlton-On-Trent site a couple days a month. Therefore a driving licence is essential. 

Requirements:

  • AAT Qualified/Part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes (A/R, A/P, General Ledger, Procurement/Payroll)
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
  • Proficient with basic Microsoft office products, specifically Excel to intermediate level required
  • Familiarity with Coins ERP would be a great advantage
  • Ability to work to agreed deadlines
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to engage with / influence non-financial people/ teams
  • Ability to work on own initiative

Responsibilities:

  • Bank postings and reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Weekly and Monthly KPI reporting across all divisions to help facilitate decision making
  • Updating weekly and monthly schedules
  • Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger
  • Intercompany invoice postings and month end reconciliations
  • Generating reports and analysing large amounts of data, this will require a very good knowledge of excel
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and management packs
  • Other ad hoc and data entry duties when required
  • Business Divisional Reporting, ensuring all revenue/costs are allocated to the appropriate divisions
  • First point of contact for operations/query handling
