The Job

As a Junior Embroidery Designer at TOPSHOP, you will be working to ensure we are first in capturing the emerging trends, and translating these into beautiful and desirable products our customers will love and believe in. Day to Day

Key Responsibilities:

• Researching trends/catwalk/blogs alongside new technique and trim development.
• Influence product direction and sharing new ideas.
• Develop embroidery and embellishment inspiration packs and boards.
• Identifying key embroidery and embellishment trends for the season ahead.
• Understands the brand/customer and the handwriting of multiple departments.
• Interprets emerging trends, making them relevant for various departments.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure hangers/development and samples meet with department expectation.
• Work with supplier to source new trim and fabrications.
• Work to deadlines and time frames set by line manager. By Planning and prioritising workload.
• Communicate effectively with the wider team on artwork direction.
• Works with designers to keep them aware of new developments that are relevant to the department.
• Is aware of store ranging and designs specific product with this in mind.
• Manage the embroidery and embellishment archive (both physical and digital) by keeping it up to date and organised.
• Preparation of trips, supporting line manager by putting together research packs, colour palettes, artworks folders and trend information.


Must Haves

• An understanding and passion for emerging trends
• Experience working with European and Far East factories/suppliers
• Ability to strongly interpret trends into designs/product for the Topshop customer
• Appetite for design influences and strong eye
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Strong enthusiasm for Topshop as a brand
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently at all levels
• Ability to work under pressure and with strong personalities
