IDS is a leading in-vitro diagnostic solution provider to the clinical laboratory market. We develop, manufacture and market innovative immunoassays and automated immunoanalyser technologies to provide improved diagnostic outcomes for patients.

IDS Boldon is the global IDS Headquarters occupying a single, multi-disciplined site.

The site focuses on the manufacture and distribution of manual Immunoassay products. On site Purchasing, Logistics, Production, Quality Control and Process Development departments manage the supply chain, supported by local Sales Support, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Finance departments. As Group Headquarters, IDS Boldon also houses all head office functions.

We're thrilled to be recruiting a Graduate Assay Development Technician to join our R&D team at Boldon.

Start Date: Ideally, the successful applicant will be available to join us on July 1st, with the assignment extending until September 2025.

The ASD Technician is accountable for:

• Supporting development of new products with the Project Leader.
• Ensure Laboratory is maintained and equipment is calibrated.
• Ensure the iSYS instrument is fit for purpose.
• Ensure compliance with the IDS Quality System.

Key tasks and deliverables:

• Performing daily assays.
• Manufacture of R&D buffers and reagents.
• Conducting accurate laboratory records as required.
• Compilation of data in preparation for analysis by the Project Leader.
• Perform laboratory maintenance.
• Perform routine equipment calibration.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly iSYS maintenance as required.
• Reporting of iSYS status and repairs to appropriate department.
• Uphold accurate laboratory records in accordance with IDS Quality System. Lab records include data analysis and full experimental details
• Support the preparation of draft production procedures and QC procedures.
• Support the writing of protocols/reports for verification and validation studies.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in Science.

Skills & Knowledge

Immunoassay Techniques (desirable): Proficient in immunoassay methods
Biochemical Methodology Knowledge: Skilled in relevant biochemical methods and advanced technologies.
Deadline-Oriented: Able to work under pressure and consistently meets project deadlines.
Independent and Team-Driven: Works effectively both independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
Equipment Proficiency: Operates essential laboratory equipment with precision and efficiency.
Compliance and Quality Focus: Adheres rigorously to quality procedures, ensuring quality and compliance standards.
Advanced MS Excel and Word Skills: Utilizes Excel and Word proficiently for data analysis and reporting.
Strong Communication: Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills for team collaboration and reporting.

Experience

• Experience gained from education through a Bachelor degree in a scietific subject (Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry or similar)

• Lab experience gained in education or industry is highly desirable
