What inspired you to join Steatite?
Having previously worked for a smaller, family-run business, I was looking for the opportunity to join a larger organisation where I could expand my horizons and continue to grow professionally.
During my interview, it quickly became clear that Steatite offered the opportunities and environment I was looking for. From the conversations I had, I felt confident it was a place where I could do this and thankfully, that turned out to be absolutely right.
Can you describe your career journey since joining?
I joined Steatite as a Purchasing Administrator, and during my time here I’ve progressed through several roles — from Buyer, to Senior Buyer, to Purchasing Manager, and now Supply Chain Manager.
Steatite has fully supported me throughout this journey, giving me opportunities to grow and develop at each stage. They also supported me in studying towards my MCIPS qualification, which helped me strengthen my knowledge and skills. With that support, I’ve been able to develop both professionally and personally, and grow into a confident and successful leader.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
100% the people. Steatite has grown a lot since I first joined the business, but thanks to the high staff retention rate and the care shown to employees, it has built a fantastic team of people who genuinely feel like family.
I often get asked where I work, probably because of the enthusiasm I show when talking about my professional life. Every day I’m able to contribute and add value alongside a team of people I have a huge amount of respect for. Working at Steatite aligns closely with my personal values, which makes it an incredibly rewarding place to be.
What has been a memorable project or proudest moment so far?
My proudest moment so far has been achieving my MCIPS qualification. Studying alongside a full-time role for three years was challenging at times, but reaching that goal made it all worthwhile and is something I&rsqu0;m really proud of.
Throughout the process, Steatite recognised my strengths and supported my development. That support and encouragement helped me grow both professionally and personally, and pushed me to become the best version of myself that I could be.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Steatite?
Absolutely go for it. Steatite gives you plenty of room to grow and develop. I’ve found that whenever I reach a goal, new opportunities and challenges appear, which keeps things interesting and motivating. There’s never been a better time to join the team.
